Standoff Insulators

No matter what you call them; Insulating Pillars, Busbar Insulators or Insulating Bobbins. We are proud to provide our extensively tested products to various sectors in many countries.

We manufacture in-house and hold excellent stock levels.

Below are access points for each of our products “footprints” alternatively head directly to our cross reference tool.

Our standoff insulators are available with both metric and imperial threads, and in a variety of heights and insert sizes.

  • Self-extinguishing, UL 94 V-0 rated
  • Halogen free
  • Insulation voltage 1000 V AC, 1500 V DC
  • Operating temperature range from −40 °C to +130 °C (−40 °F to +266 °F)
  • UL Recognised Component; File Number: E505645

Selection Data

Our standoff insulators are available with either metric or imperial (UNC) threads, in a variety of product footprints, heights and insert sizes. Each product range has the same distinctive black octagonal design, making them the comprehensive choice for customers wishing to ensure uniformity within their assemblies.

Refer to the tables below or search our range by either required size, historic Termate product part numbers or competitor codes using our complete cross reference tool.

Footprint Height [H] | Thread Size [M] Width across flats [W] mm Width across corners [X] mm Base diameter [Y] mm Shoulder height [Z] mm
AM1 See full AM1 range 18 20 15 4
AM2 See full AM2 range 25 27 22 6
AM4 See full AM4 range 35 38 30 10
AM6 See full AM6 range 60 65 53 22.5

Our metric insulators can be converted into Male/Male or Female/Male versions by fitting studs from our Grub Screw Pack.

UL Certified:

Our Standoff insulator range is a UL Recognised Component, more information can be found at UL Product IQ.

Our insulators are made from glass-reinforced polyamide, chosen specifically for its mechanical capabilities and performance as an insulator.

Our extensive testing procedure is designed to give you the confidence that, when correctly installed in your own assembly, our products will meet the specified ratings.

Each range has been subjected to cantilever, torque and tensile tests. Additionally they are compliant with the applicable clauses within many international standards Including those for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies, IEC 61439.

Contact us if you require compliance with other standards.

Termate busbar insulators are commonly used in a variety of applications. They are designed to safely keep two conductive parts separated for safety reasons and to prevent contact between them that could cause damage or harm.

They are suitable for use in the manufacture of electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems, electrical panel boards and  switchboards, as well as generators and drives.

Our standoffs are used across a variety of sectors, including power distribution, renewable energy (from wind, solar and tidal sources), the rail sector (both track side and rolling stock), in marine uses, temporary and emergency power, and also in datacentre power distribution.
