Standoff Insulator - Selection Data

Our standoff insulators are available with either metric or imperial (UNC) threads, in a variety of product footprints, heights and insert sizes. Each product range has the same distinctive black octagonal design, making them the comprehensive choice for customers wishing to ensure uniformity within their assemblies.

Refer to the tables below or search our range by either required size, historic Termate product part numbers or competitor codes using our complete cross reference tool.

Metric Range

The table below lists the available sizes of the Metric Termate Standoff Insulator range, These are provided with Metric Coarse threaded inserts moulded into the body. Please select from the blue links to access the detailed product pages.

Footprint Height [H] | Thread Size [M] Width across flats [W] mm Width across corners [X] mm
AM1 From 20mm to 35mm with M5 or M6 threads: See full AM1 range 18 20
AM2 From 25mm to 100mm with M6 or M8 threads: See full AM2 range 25 27
AM4 From 30mm to 60mm with M6, M8 or M10 threads: See full AM4 range 35 38
AM6 From 60mm to 100mm with M8, M10, M12 or M16 threads: See full AM6 range 60 65

Our metric insulators can be converted into Male/Male or Female/Male versions by fitting studs from our Grub Screw Pack.

Termate Insulator Supports are UL Certified:

Our Standoff insulator range is a UL Recognised Component, more information can be found at UL Product IQ.

Selection of Standoff Insulator Material:

Our insulators are made from glass-reinforced polyamide, chosen specifically for its mechanical capabilities and performance as an insulator.

Standoff Insulator Testing:

Our extensive testing procedure is designed to give you the confidence that, when correctly installed in your own assembly, our products will meet the specified ratings.

Each range has been subjected to cantilever, torque and tensile tests. Additionally they are compliant with the applicable clauses within many international standards Including those for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies, IEC 61439.

Application:

Termate busbar insulators are commonly used in a variety of applications. They are designed to safely keep two conductive parts separated for safety reasons and to prevent contact between them that could cause damage or harm.

They are suitable for use in the manufacture of electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems, electrical panel boards and  switchboards, as well as generators and drives.

Sectors:

Our standoffs are used across a variety of sectors, including power distribution, renewable energy (from wind, solar and tidal sources), the rail sector (both track side and rolling stock), in marine uses, temporary and emergency power, and also in datacentre power distribution.
